Importing a Blog to Facebook

In Uncategorized on December 5, 2009 at 12:20 pm

Q:  How do I get my blog to my Facebook account, so when I have a new blog post it goes to my wall and all of my friends can read it?  Michelle G. — Mariott International

A:  If you are writing a blog, why not share it with your friends on Facebook too?  :)  Thanks for your question, Michelle.  Below are the instructions on how to do this.

  1. Login to Facebook &  head to your profile.
  2. In the search bar (top right), type in “Notes.”  Select “Notes” when the choice drops down (automatically).
  3. Click on “Import a Blog” in the Notes Setting box (right side).
  4. Enter the URL or RSS feed of your blog in the provided area. (Select the box confirming your ownership rights.)
  5. Click the “Start Importing” link.
  6. Confirm that the correct blog is showing and choose to “Continue” or “Cancel” depending on the results.
  7. Continue to blog…  Facebook will automatically add your new posts as notes to your profile!  We love automation!  :)
  8. Oh – one last thing, check out the “Edit notes privacy” in the “Notes Setting” box if you want to control who can view your blog posts/notes, etc.

**  Please note, if you would like to add a blog to your Business Page, you will go to your Page, click “edit Page”…and scroll down to the Notes application & click edit.  You will see the same type of screen as the above.  Just click on “import a blog” and within a couple minutes you’ll have your blog streaming to your Business Page! :)

(Thank you for your patience in my response to this question.  Social Buzz Media has been re-vamping the website/blog over the past few weeks…and will continue to make improvements.)
